THE ROLE
This is a senior consultative appointment for a professional who can operate at the intersection of technical expertise and business strategy. You will hold credible conversations at the executive level, translate complex technology into clear business outcomes, and guide clients from initial discovery through to a defined solution path.
Working alongside our Account Managers and Business Development Managers, you step in once opportunities are qualified to lead the technical and consultative engagement. You conduct discovery across enterprise networking, cybersecurity, cloud, and managed IT services, develop technology roadmaps, contribute to Statements of Work and proposals, and bring in the right specialists at the right time. Once delivery begins, you remain a trusted presence on engagements where your involvement adds value.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead technical and strategic client conversations alongside sales and business development, acting as the primary technical voice in client-facing engagements
- Conduct structured discovery and scoping sessions to understand each client's environment, business objectives, and technology gaps across networking, cybersecurity, cloud, and managed services
- Build and present tailored technology roadmaps that translate complex technical options into clear, prioritised pathways aligned to business outcomes
- Develop High-Level Designs, Bills of Materials, Statements of Work, technical proposals, and RFP and RFT responses; these are core deliverables of the role
- Define Proof of Concept engagements including scope, success criteria, and technical requirements; oversee execution and translate outcomes into a clear commercial recommendation
- Build the business case for proposed solutions where required, articulating ROI, total cost of ownership, and risk reduction in terms that resonate with executive decision-makers
- Enable the sales team: help BDMs and Account Managers understand the technical landscape, new service capabilities, and how to position BluBiz against competitive alternatives
- Ensure a structured handover of scoped solutions to delivery teams, so that what is proposed is what is delivered; remain available as an escalation point during key engagements
- Feed market intelligence and client feedback back into the business to inform service development, pricing, and go-to-market strategy
- Demonstrate thought leadership through insight, market awareness, and informed guidance that positions BluBiz as a trusted long-term partner
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
We value the quality of your thinking and character as much as your credentials. A combination of the following is expected.
- Minimum five years of experience in a technical consulting, pre-sales, or solutions role within an MSP or ICT solutions environment
- Solid working knowledge across two or more domains: enterprise networking, cybersecurity, cloud, or managed IT services; able to hold a credible technical conversation without being a hands-on engineer
- Demonstrated experience producing High-Level Designs, Bills of Materials, Statements of Work, and contributions to RFPs and RFTs; these are essential requirements of the role
- Experience scoping and managing Proof of Concept engagements from brief through to commercial outcome
- The ability to build a business case or ROI analysis that speaks to a CFO or CEO, not just an IT manager
- Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, including C-level executives, in complex multi-stakeholder environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt to any audience; equally effective in a whiteboard session with engineers and a strategy briefing with a board
- Experience enabling or upskilling a sales team on technical concepts, new services, or competitive positioning
- A track record of following through on commitments, with a reputation for reliability and integrity that clients and colleagues can count on
QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
A relevant degree is valued. A combination of certifications across two or more domains will strengthen your application.
Networking
- Cisco CCNA or CCNP, or equivalent
Cybersecurity
- CompTIA Security+, Fortinet NSE 4 or above, or CISSP
Cloud
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator or Solutions Architect, or equivalent
Managed Services and Frameworks
- ITIL Foundation or above; vendor certifications across Cisco, Fortinet, Microsoft, Palo Alto, or Telstra are viewed favourably
